COST:

$5 per student to be paid at school.

ENTRIES:                    

Each school may enter a maximum of 4 competitors in each race.

2000 metres

  1. 8/9 Year Girls       2. 8/9 Year Boys          3. 10 Year Girls                  4. 10 Year Boys

3000 metres

  1. 11 Year Girls           2. 11 Year Boys            3. 12/13 Year Girls            4. 12/13 Year Boys

NB: This is the age the child turns in 2026.

ENTRY FEE:                

Each competitor must pay $2.50 entry fee. Schools will be invoiced for student participation.

First 4 Students receive a ribbon.

First 6 students to finish in each race will attend the Hunter Regional Carnival.

First 25 students to finish will receive points for their school.

Multi class entries

Zones may send up to 2 multi class athlete entries per age/gender division. Multi class athletes need be included on zone team lists.

As all para-athletes run 2000m, primary 8, 9, and 10 year para-athletes will compete in their age and gender race. Primary 11, 12 and 13 year old para-athletes will compete in the 10 years race with their respective genders.

Categories to be eligible for primary are: Intellectually Disabled – ID T20, Hearing Impaired – HI T01 AU2, Physical Impairment PI. This will be restricted to Cerebral Palsy – CP T35, T36, T37 or T38, or Amputee T44, T45, T46, or Visually Impaired – VI T11, T12 or T13.

T11 athletes must run with a guide. T12 and T13 athletes may elect to run with a guide.

Dwarfism – T40 or T41 are both subject to medical clearance.

T01 AU2 Athletes with a T01 AU2 classification will be required to remove any hearing devices prior to the commencement of the race or once final instructions have been given by the starter.

REMINDERS:  

Please remind students:

  • to bring a water bottle
  • to wear sunscreen and bring a hat
  • once races begin, they must remain behind the fence
  • asthmatics should bring puffer

RULES: 

  • Only students nominated by their school may attend ELMPSSA Cross Country. Attendance at the zone carnival is necessary to be selected to advance to Hunter Cross Country.                      
  • All competitors must wear shoes. (NO SPIKES) 
  • No pushing, tripping or interference with other competitors is allowed.
  • No competitor is to receive assistance or refreshment during the race.

CANTEEN:                  

A canteen will be operating during the Carnival.

First Aid will be in attendance.
