ELMPSSA ZONE ATHLETICS CARNIVAL

Arrive at 8:30 am for a 9:00 am start.

1500m and Discus begin at 8:00 am

COST:

$10.00 per student to be paid to school.

ENTRIES:                

Each school may enter 2 students for 100m, 200m, 800m. (There is no qualifying time for these races)

1500m is open to students who placed 1 – 6 at ELMPSSA Zone Cross Country. Schools will be sent names of students. 

Each school may enter 2 students for each field event if they meet the qualifying distance or height.

 EVENTS

1500m and Discus begin at 8:00 am

EQUIPMENT:

• Students to wear appropriate footwear in all events.
• Students bring a water bottle, adequate food and refreshments. A canteen will be operating on both days.
• All Schools must bring their own relay batons.
• Students wear sunscreen and bring a hat
• Asthmatics should bring puffer.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• Age groups for Field Events:  200m and 800m are:

          Juniors 8, 9, 10 years      11 years      12/13 years

• SPIKES are only permitted in track events. ie 100m, 200m,  events only. When spiked shoes are worn the maximum length for all track events  is 7mm.
• Spikes are not allowed in 800m or relays due to safety precautions. 
• High Jumps begin at qualifying height – distances below will not be measured.
• CANTEEN will be operating.
• FIRST AID will be provided.
• All Age Races are 100m – We are using timing gates.
• RELAYS – children to stay in own lane after passing on the baton
• CANCELLATIONS will be made by sms to sportspersons and on the website.
